Knifedb.com Status Jan 2012

Hello CASE XX Pocket Knife Collectors,

This is the first blog from the BladeMaster.  I want to use this blog to do several things in the future.    First, I want to keep you up to date on our progress in creating www.knifedb.com. Second, I will use this mechanism to show you some of the capabilities of the data base.  Thirdly, I will occasionally publish information about Case knives that may be of interest to collectors.

Here's our current programming status: Michael, the Webmaster is dealing with some formatting and spacing issues and trying to get time to work on the "My Collection" , "Knives Wanted", and "Knives Available" tabs.  He is finishing his PhD, and just had a new baby girl. (Remember there are just two of us doing this massive project).  He just finished adding search capabilities to many of the results fields.  These are the blue up and down arrows above the columns in the search results.  Try clicking on some of them to see what happens.  This brilliant young man is single-handedly bringing you the information I have put together over the years, and I am grateful for his efforts.

On my end, I am working to try to get the 50 sets of Limited XX Editions made between 1995 and 2010 correctly entered.  I still have many knives to find in these sets.  I also worked today on entering knives from the 2009 Winter Promotional Products catalog.  Finally, a collector brought me 400 plus knives from the early 1970's to check against the data base.

More to follow...
